Frolics with the Felines of Church Lane

My two great loves in life, after my dearly beloved husband David, are my garden and my cats. Not known for their compatibility, I try to get them to work in harmony but the results are often unintentionally entertaining. The first thing we did when we moved into our house in 1997 (Tony Blair came to power as PM and Things Could Only Get Better!) was build the Catio. David erected a pergola that spanned the back of the house, then encased the entire patio with enclosure mesh. This area was to be a secure outside space for our six cats, with containerised sub-tropical plant displays, allowing the birds safe haven in our garden beyond. Several shelves were erected as viewing platforms for the cats to eye the outside world, as well as indulge in a spot of sunbathing.
